Eagle Cap Excursion Train
Operating from a depot in Elgin, the Eagle Cap Excursion Train is a scenic train that follows the shores of the beautiful Grande Ronde and Wallowa Rivers in Northeast Oregon. Equipment is restored 1940-vintage diesel passenger cars and 1950s engines and caboose. Passenger cars are climate controlled and have restrooms, free coffee or tea, and snacks for purchase. Many rides feature themes or entertainment and most include a meal. The Elgin Depot has a gift shop, men’s and women’s multi-stall restrooms, indoor and outdoor waiting areas and historic displays. There is an ample parking area for motor coaches on the north side of the depot.
